Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit organization that works to build homes and build strong, vibrant communities in the Endless Mountains region. We strive to provide quality, affordable housing with a commitment to creating a better future for all. Our mission is to strengthen families and create a sustainable future for the area.

Building a Brighter Future

Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity’s (EMHFH) mission is to build modest homes for low-income families who could otherwise not afford a home of their own. From modest beginnings in the early 1990s, EMHFH has grown and has completed many homes in the Wyoming County communities including the development of the Walnut Ridge Subdivision in Mehoopany. The Walnut Ridge Development was first envisioned twenty years ago. ________________ In 2003, EMHFH received a very generous bequest from the estate of Annett Baer. With these funds, EMHFH was able to plan a modern development. Walnut Ridge was envisioned as a modern subdivision with buried utilities, municipal sewer connection, and paved streets. The Walnut Ridge Subdivision consists of 33 acres total, parceled into 28 building lots, and additional 7 acres of open green space. Today, the Groundbreaking on Lot #3 is the Ninth (9) new home to be built by EMHFH in the Walnut Ridge subdivision. EMHFH will select a family partner to complete the work on this home from the ground up. The family must provide 400 hours of volunteer work on the project as well as meet income guidelines to be eligible. Most of the labor work on the new home will be provided by volunteers, all supplies and equipment will be paid by EMHFH or by donors.

Building New Futures - Community

Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity's Building New Futures service provides construction services for communities in need, including the building and repair of homes, the construction of public spaces and infrastructure, and the organization of community-wide revitalization projects. Our goal is to help communities create better environments, providing opportunity and security to families and individuals.

Endless Mountains Habitat for Humanity: Construction for a Better Future

Just what is it that makes a home important to a family’s success? Studies have shown that a secure home environment contributes to family stability, children who are well adjusted and achieve higher standards in school, and who have a better chance of future success in their lives.

Habitat offers a Hand-Up, not a Hand-Out. Habitat mortgages are interest free and based on our cost to build the home. Because of the increase in building costs, we are constantly reviewing our build plans to make the homes more efficient and to better manage our expenses
